How is Shifter different from a staffing agency?

An agency marks up every hour you pay and keeps the relationship, so you pay again next time. Shifter charges a small fixed fee to reach the right locals, hands you their contact, and takes nothing from wages. You agree the rate directly, and you can re-hire them yourself.

What does the fee actually pay for?

Reaching the matching, available locals for your shift, and unlocking their contact the moment one accepts. That is the whole product. The wage is agreed between you and the worker, and Shifter never takes a percentage of it.

Can I hire someone who can invoice me properly?

Yes, and you can filter for it. When a local says they are registered as an auto-entrepreneur, we check that status against the French business registry before their profile reaches you. You can set a shift so only registered locals are notified.

What if the shift does not work out?

Tell us and we re-open it at no charge, so you never pay twice for the same gap. There is no button for it yet: email us or use the contact page, and it is handled by hand, usually the same day.
