Today we're launching something new: Shifter Jobs, a free season job board for the Chamonix Valley, live now at shifterstaff.com/chamonix.
Why a separate board
Shifter's core product is last-minute shift dispatch: a property posts a shift, and every matching worker gets notified within minutes. That's still what Shifter does best, and it's not going anywhere.
But every September, the valley goes through something different. Hotels, chalets and restaurants are hiring for the whole winter season, not for tomorrow's shift. And people are looking for a season, with housing, not an extra afternoon. We kept seeing that demand play out in local Facebook groups: real ads, real candidates, scattered across a dozen threads with no way to search or filter any of it.
That's a different problem from the one Shifter already solves, so it gets its own board rather than being squeezed into the shift feed.
What it is
Shifter Jobs is free, for both sides, with no commission.
- Looking for a season job? Browse ads at shifterstaff.com/chamonix/jobs, no account needed. When you find one you like, apply directly, by email, phone or in person, however the ad says to. You can also publish a candidate profile so properties looking for staff can find you first.
- Looking for staff? Post a season ad in a couple of minutes, browse the candidate roster, and contact anyone directly. No agency fees, no commission on wages, same as the rest of Shifter.
Every ad is a real page you can share, print or paste back into a Facebook group. And because it runs on the same account system as the rest of Shifter, existing workers and properties can use the board with the account they already have.
A note on curated ads
You'll also find some ads on the board marked as curated: postings we found on local Facebook groups and public boards, and relayed here so they're easier to search and compare. We always say so clearly on the ad itself. If one of those is yours and you'd like to manage it directly, or you'd rather we took it down, the ad tells you how, no account required.
